General Questions

How come it takes you so long to answer emails?

Answering emails can take me up to a week as I work full time. I also am out of the house during the week for various other commitments. This means although I check my emails daily, I often don't have the time to respond immediately. If a query is urgent or has a deadline, please state this in the message.

I have an idea about a painting. Will you paint it for free?

No sorry. If you are interested in hiring me to paint a picture, please visit my Commission page for further information and pricing.

How do you paint/ What do you paint with?

Got to the Tutorial Page for some walkthroughs and general art tips

Do you do links exchanges?

No. I tend to only link to friends, companies I've worked with or artists I admire.

What happened to your old paintings & where can I see your sketches?

I cleaned up the site and decided to archive off a lot of the old work. I'm adding some of my old paintings to my scraps folder over at Deviant Art.

I post sketches/ speedpaints and work that isn't really finished to my art blog on LiveJournal

Image Usage Questions:

Can I repost your pictures on my website?

Yes, as long as you credit me as the artist, the website where you are displaying the image is a non-profit site, and the image is not copyright to a client (i.e. commissioned). Please place a link back to http://www.nicolecadet.com and don't modify the image. Also, please, no hotlinking. It makes me very cranky!

N.B. Do not host my pictures at any site that allows prints to be made from the image.

Don't host on Google, Photobucket or Flickr (or any other hosting site that allows prints to be created from the images). These sites encourage copyright infringements and I will report you.

Can I use your painting in stationary/ web graphics/ PSP tubes/ derivative work?

No. I used to allow this, but too many people disregarded my conditions of use.You can however use a detail of a pieces as an LJ Icon, as long as you credit me in the keywords. Lady Lithidial on LJ makes some beautiful graphics, a few of which I have displayed on my Downloads page for personal use.

Can I use your painting to represent my character in an online game or character in my book?

No. You may commission me to create a character image for you, but please do not use any images on this website for this purpose unless they have been commissioned by you. Please visit my Commission page for further information and pricing. Alternatively, I have several character portraits for sale through Portrait Adoption.
